X-Keys
What is SPLAT mode?
Quick Answer:
SPLAT Mode is the default operating mode of our X-keys devices, and is required to communicate with our MacroWorks II software, or any custom programmed software.
Further Details:
Overview:
SPLAT Mode is the required operating mode for working with our MacroWorks II software. While operating in SPLAT Mode your X-keys device's macros will be stored in a layout file on your computer. If you want to use your X-keys device on multiple computers you will need to copy your layout file to each of these computers.
Layout Files:
When operating in SPLAT Mode all of your device's macros are stored in a single layout file on your computer. X-keys MacroWorks II layout files are saved with a .mws file extension.
Programming Software:
Our MacroWorks II software is used to create and modify the layout files for USB X-keys devices operating in SPLAT Mode.
Device Compatibility:
PS/2 X-Keys Devices:
All X-keys PS/2 Devices operate in Memory Resident Mode only and their operating mode can not be changed. These devices do not support SPLAT Mode.
