X-keys® Desktop Keypad for SUN
Newer SUN system USB keyboards have 17 keys in addition to those found on a standard PC keyboard. This is fine as long as your SUN computer can be operated from the new keyboard alone, but many SUN computers are part of a group run from a single workstation through a KVM. Most KVMs don't support USB input hardware, so where do you connect the new USB keyboard? You can't. To solve this problem, P.I. Engineering bundles our X-keys Programmable PS/2 keypad with our Y-mouse USB Adapter for SUN. The X-keys is preprogrammed with special scan codes that are recognized by our Y-mouse and translated into the equivalent SUN USB codes. Three extra keys on the X-keys can be programmed with any sequence or combination of keystrokes from the keyboard, just like our standard X-keys Desktop. Typical KVM connectionPS/2 mouse and keyboard outputs from KVMs are adapted to USB and special SUN commands are sent from the Y-mouse to the SUN computers. | |
