"The act of executing buy, sell, and change orders with most direct access trading software is an inefficient and time-wasting process of menus, mouse clicks, and keystrokes. When scalping or otherwise trading fast stocks, trades are often missed because orders cannot be configured and entered fast enough as price moves away. Trades are often entered with slippage and waste because there's no time to be precise. Trading software is improving with the addition of hotkeys which assign order-entry actions to keyboard keys, but hotkeys typically require two keys to execute, and the keyboard (designed for typing) is awkward to use for trading. Hotkeys are generally spread all over the keyboard, and the user must resort to hand gymnastics to execute trades. With the X-keys keypad, the trader can assign order-entry hotkeys to the X-Keys instead of the keyboard.
